Danielle Leitner Baxter: 15 Years of Supporting the Bleeding Disorders Community
Danielle Leitner Baxter, Executive Director at Great Lakes Hemophilia Foundation and Regional Director at Region V-West, Northern States, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Today marks 15 years since I joined Great Lakes Hemophilia Foundation.
Since 2011, we have seen the evolution of the bleeding disorders treatment landscape with more than 20 FDA-approved therapies.
We have created new fundraising events, sunset others and tried a few that didn’t work out as we hoped.
We’ve celebrated milestones, guided the community through a pandemic and multiple healthcare reforms.
We navigated an unexpected move.
There was joy and heartbreak as I made incredible new friends and said goodbye to beloved family, friends and leaders.
Together, we’ve: Served more than 8,500 clients Created life-changing programs like Camp Klotty Pine Unified communities through the Unite Walk and Milwaukee’s Best Bloody Advocated for policies that protect access to care along the way, the families, volunteers, donors, HTC staff, board members, our GLHF team and my fellow Executive Directors have made this journey truly meaningful.
Fifteen years ago, I could never have imagined where this journey would lead or all that it would give me.
The people, experiences, challenges, and triumphs have shaped me in ways I never expected. I am grateful. I look forward to the next chapter!”
