David Ferreira: When Thrombophilia Becomes a Decision-Making Challenge
David Ferreira, President of the General Assembly of APIH, shared a post on LinkedIn:
”Thrombophilia is not a diagnosis.
It is the beginning of a clinical decision-making challenge.
Today, I attended the 1st National Meeting of Young Immunohematologists in Abrantes, participating in a hot-seat session focused on Thrombophilia and Thrombosis.
Open discussion, different perspectives – but aligned on one essential point: making the right decision is often harder than simply knowing a lot.
This is where the specialty grows.
A sincere thank you to the organizers for the invitation and, above all, for the quality of the congress. For a first edition, it was exceptionally well organized – scientific, dynamic, and with genuine space for debate. This is how a new generation with critical thinking is built.
Also, my thanks to the panel colleagues for the challenging and productive discussion: Dr. Rita Pardal, Dr. Catarina Guedes, Dr. Luciana Gonçalves, and Dr. Sofia Ribeiro.
In thrombosis, the risk is not only in the event itself.
It is in the decision.
Congratulations to everyone involved.
This absolutely must continue.”
