Deepak Yadav: A Privilege to Talk on ESUS at CREST Stroke Conclave 2026

Deepak Yadav, Consultant and Assistant Professor of Neurology at Amrita Hospital, shared on LinkedIn:

”Honored to have been invited as a Faculty Speaker at the iCure Stroke and CREST Stroke Conclave 2026, held at Gurugram, Delhi NCR.

I had the privilege of delivering a talk on:

‘ESUS (Embolic Stroke of Undetermined Source): Diagnostic Dilemmas and a Practical Clinical Algorithm’

ESUS remains one of the most challenging areas in stroke neurology.

While the concept was introduced to identify covert embolic mechanisms, the field has evolved significantly over the last decade.

The discussion focused on:

  • Evolution of ESUS from 2014 to 2026
  • Hidden etiologies behind cryptogenic stroke
  • Atrial cardiopathy and occult AF
  • PFO, non-stenotic carotid plaque, cancer-associated stroke, and hypercoagulable states
  • Vessel wall imaging and emerging diagnostic tools
  • Practical diagnostic algorithms for everyday clinical practice
  • Current controversies and future directions

The most rewarding part was the engaging interaction with colleagues, stroke neurologists, neurointerventionists, and trainees who shared their perspectives and experiences.

Grateful to the organizers for the invitation and to all attendees for the stimulating discussions.

Conferences like these remind us that the future of stroke medicine lies not only in treatment but also in improving our ability to identify the true mechanism of stroke and deliver precision secondary prevention.

Looking forward to continued collaboration, research, and innovation in stroke care.”
