“The Lancet Thalassemia Series launches next week in The Lancet Haematology. Bringing together 48 international experts from 28 countries, the Series takes a comprehensive look at thalassemia; from the evolving epidemiology and prevention landscape to the global treatment paradigm and the future of care.
I am honoured to be a co-author of one of the four reviews, ‘Future-proofing thalassemia care: harnessing scalable therapies, artificial intelligence, and global collaboration.’
The review explores how scalable therapeutic approaches, emerging technologies, artificial intelligence, and stronger international collaboration could help reshape thalassemia care for the decades ahead, particularly in settings where access to specialist treatment remains limited.
I hope this collective work will contribute to a broader global effort to ensure that high-quality, evidence-based thalassemia care is accessible to every patient, regardless of where they live.”
