Intezar Mehdi: When Prolonged Bleeding May Indicate an Underlying Bleeding Disorder
Intezar Mehdi, Director and Head Senior Consultant Pediatric Hematology Oncology and BMT at HCG Cancer Center Bangalore, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Prolonged bleeding after a tooth extraction or frequent nosebleeds may sometimes indicate an underlying bleeding disorder. While occasional bleeding can have many causes, repeated episodes or bleeding that lasts longer than expected should not be ignored.
The important clue may lie in the pattern, not just the latest episode.
Early evaluation can help identify the cause and guide appropriate care.
Concerned about unusual or prolonged bleeding in your child?
