Isaac Okello: Turning Point from Reliance on Foreign Exports to Self – Reliance Through Local Production of Medical Supplies
Isaac Okello, Global Genes Leadership Council Member, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Yesterday, together with representatives from Sickle Cell Alliance Uganda, we attended the launch at Serena Hotel of locally manufactured IVD test kits for malaria, HIV, and sickle cell disease by Microhaem Scientifics.
This marks a turning point from reliance on foreign exports to self-reliance through local production of medical supplies.
Congratulations to the team at Microhaem Scientifics on this remarkable innovation.
We are excited about this important milestone, which strengthens local capacity and advances the fight against sickle cell disease in Uganda.”
