“I recently participated in BioCentury Inc. Grand Rounds Europe in Amsterdam, where I joined colleagues to discuss how advances in vascular biology, genetics, inflammation, thrombosis, and metabolism are changing the way we understand cardiovascular disease.
These mechanisms are deeply interconnected. Understanding why they work the way they do, and how we should scientifically approach them from different points of view, may help inform the next generation of cardiovascular therapies.
That is what makes discussions like this so valuable. Progress requires us to look beyond traditional boundaries, revisit longstanding assumptions, and remain open to where the research and the data lead.
I appreciated the opportunity to learn from my fellow panelists, Peter Carmeliet, Luca Andrea Lotta, and Pieter H. Reitsma, each of whom brought a valuable perspective to the conversation.
