”Today is Chronic Disease Awareness Day.
Living with a rare bleeding disorder like Glanzmann Thrombasthenia is not easy. Bleeding episodes, hospital visits, anemia, fatigue, and uncertainty are realities that many of us face throughout our lives.
But our diagnosis should never define our potential. We are stronger than we know, and we can live fulfilling, meaningful lives.
Every advancement in treatment is meaningful, but we should never lose sight of the ultimate goal.
Managing symptoms is important, but treating the disorder itself is the goal.
Imagine children born with Glanzmann Thrombasthenia growing up without planning their lives around the next bleed.
Imagine parents no longer living with the constant worry of an emergency.
Imagine a future where this disease is part of history, not someone’s future.
Today, let’s recognize the challenges people with chronic diseases face while continuing to support the research that can change tomorrow.”
