”The Global Shortage of Vital Plasma-Derived Medicines (PDMPs)
This news item from Canada is relevant to all countries globally, with only 6 exceptions (The USA, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Czechia and Egypt).
The World is desperately short of the vital PDMPs that millions of patients need.
• the consequent suffering and death are gruesome and shameful
• the reason is glaringly obvious – an inadequate global plasma harvest.
So far, only six countries have recognised this simple fact and have increased their plasma collection capacity accordingly.
Canada is trying hard to follow suit.
We must wish them well – both for themselves and as a model for other nations – for the sake of patients and undiagnosed sufferers worldwide.”
