Rob Maloney: Working Together to Strengthen Bleeding Disorders Care in the Dominican Republic
Rob Maloney, Chief Executive Officer of Hemophilia of Georgia, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Our mission at Hemophilia of Georgia doesn’t stop at the Georgia state line.
I’m spending time in the Dominican Republic this week with the World Federation of Hemophilia and colleagues committed to improving care for people living with bleeding disorders.
It’s a reminder of how different access to care can look depending on where someone lives. Treatments and comprehensive care that many of us have come to expect in the United States remain difficult to access in other parts of the world.
I’m proud that Hemophilia of Georgia has a longstanding relationship with the bleeding disorders community here.
Working alongside local leaders and organizations like FAHEM, we have an opportunity to share what we’ve learned while supporting their efforts to build stronger, more sustainable systems of care. Especially thankful for Cesar Garrido leadership to keep this mission moving forward…
There is a lot we can learn from one another.
Our mission is More than Medicine. Sometimes that means looking beyond our own borders.”
