Ruisheng Su: Honored to Receive an NWO Veni Grant for Explainable AI Research in Stroke Care
Ruisheng Su, Assistant Professor at Eindhoven University of Technology, reposted from Eindhoven University of Technology on LinkedIn:
”Incredibly grateful and honored to share that I have been awarded a Veni grant by the NWO (Dutch Research Council)!
This grant will allow me to further establish our research on AI-based image analysis for neurovascular interventions.
In ischemic stroke, around half of patients do not recover well despite successful reopening of blocked brain vessels.
By integrating medical imaging, clinical data, and explainable AI, this project aims to better understand this hidden half and enable personalized treatment decisions in the intervention room.
I am deeply grateful to my colleagues in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at TU/e and collaborators for their invaluable support, and to everyone who encouraged me throughout the process.
Super excited to begin this journey with our collaborators and look forward to sharing our progress along the way!
Always happy to connect, exchange ideas, and explore new collaborations!”
Quoting Eindhoven University of Technology‘s post:
”Eindhoven’s Eleven have arrived!
A record number of TU/e researchers awarded Veni grants.
The NWO Veni grant is dedicated to researchers who have recently completed their PhD and supports innovative, high-potential research across disciplines.
Each of Eindhoven’s Eleven receives up to 320,000 euros for their research over the next three years.
Congratulations to Eindhoven’s Eleven, and here’s the roll call:
Siyuan Liu, Inês Pereira, Marianna Capasso, Ruisheng Su, Luuk Van Laake, Hilde Weerts, Nadia Erkamp, Claudia Reyes San Martin, Fahim Shakib, Laura Rijns, and Tom van der Pol.
Protecting the powerhouses of cells when in deep freeze, rethinking responsibility in the current age of generative AI, and bio-inspired controls for enhanced autonomous soft robots are amongst the TU/e projects to receive NWO (Dutch Research Council) funding.
