Scott Cameron: ACC/AHA Guidance on Acute Pulmonary Embolism Management
Scott Cameron, Vascular Cardiologist at Cleveland Clinic, Section Head of Vascular Medicine, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Thrilled to see our Leben Tefera from Cleveland Clinic vascular medicine contribute in his PERT leadership role to the recent ACC/AHA update on managing acute pulmonary embolism.
Cleveland Clinic is among a small number of U.S. centers (3 at the last check) with published data demonstrating that a Pulmonary Embolism Response Team (PERT), now a Class I recommendation, reduces mortality in patients with hemodynamically significant PE.
If a major hospital does not have a PERT, patients are at a disadvantage.”
