Shayan Mohammadmoradi: Leading Membership Growth and Scientific Engagement in ATVB
Shayan Mohammadmoradi, Vascular Biology and Platelet Function Scientist at University of Kentucky, CEO at Moradi Enterprise, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Earlier this month, I began serving as Chair of the ATVB Membership Committee and joined the ATVB Leadership Committee in American Heart Association.
Having become involved in ATVB service relatively early in my own ‘early-career’ journey, one of my priorities is to ensure that the perspectives of trainees and scientists at the earliest stages of their careers are represented, especially when decisions are being made about mentorship, professional development, career pathways, and where they belong within our scientific community.
Under the leadership of my good friend Jeffrey J. Hsu, the Membership Committee created a genuine sense of belonging and built tremendous momentum in expanding and engaging our council membership.
I certainly have big shoes to fill, and I am grateful for the opportunity to continue that work alongside an outstanding committee.
Our goal will be to strengthen the ATVB community by welcoming and retaining trainees, early- and mid-career investigators, international scientists, and colleagues from diverse scientific and professional backgrounds.
As always, looking forward to suggestions, comments, and feedback from our wonderful community.”
