“World Sickle Cell Day – June 19th
Let’s raise awareness about Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) and improve diagnosis, treatment, and care for patients worldwide!
- Understanding SCD
High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) helps differentiate between sickle cell trait and sickle cell anemia:
– Sickle Cell Trait: HbA (~60%) and HbS (~35%) present
– Sickle Cell Anemia: HbS (>90%) and HbA absent
- Importance of Early Diagnosis
Early diagnosis and treatment can significantly improve the quality of life for patients with SCD.
Let’s Work Together
