Strengthening Comprehensive Care for Inherited Bleeding Disorders in Ecuador – World Federation of Hemophilia

World Federation of Hemophilia, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“We are in hashtag Cuenca to continue strengthening comprehensive care for people with inherited bleeding disorders in Ecuador, as part of the collaborative work that the World Federation of Hemophilia (WFH) is carrying out together with the Ministry of Health.

Participants today include Cesar Garrido, President of the WFH; Andreina Tovar, WFH Head of Global Development; Carolina Cortés, WFH, Regional Manager for South America; Miguel Escobar, Medical Member of the WFH Board of Directors and professor of Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at the University of Texas; and Gloria Ramos, clinical bacteriologist, specialist in hemostasis and thrombosis, epidemiologist, and Vice President of CLAHT.

The visit to the Hemostasis Service of the Vicente Corral Moscoso Hospital, affiliated with the Ministry of Health, represents a key opportunity to learn firsthand about local capacities, processes, and needs, as well as to identify new possibilities for technical cooperation that strengthen diagnosis, treatment, and support for patients and their families.

This visit also allows the WFH to reaffirm, alongside the Ministry of Health, our commitment to strengthening national expertise in clinical management of inherited bleeding disorders in Ecuador.

As Miguel Escobar, expressed: ‘Being in Cuenca today reminds us that every meeting with local teams is an opportunity to listen, learn, and strengthen together the comprehensive care for coagulation disorders.'”Strengthening Comprehensive Care for Inherited Bleeding Disorders in Ecuador - World Federation of Hemophilia
