William Aird: RBC Traveling Through the Portal Vein After a “Meal”
William Aird, Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, shared a post on X:
“Yesterday I posted an image of an RBC traveling through the portal vein after a meal. Today we continue the journey. Here’s an RBC caught by a macrophage in the open circulation of the splenic cords, snatched like a baby sea turtle racing to the ocean only to be grabbed by a gull.”
