Adeeb Bazuhair: New Evidence for Catheter Directed Thrombolysis in Acute PE
Adeeb Bazuhair, Program Director of interventional radiology at Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS), shared a post on LinkedIn about a recent article he and his colleagues co-authored, published in Cardiology in Review, adding:
“Pleased to share our newly published systematic review and meta-analysis on catheter-directed thrombolysis (CDT) for intermediate-risk acute pulmonary embolism.
Across 6 RCTs and 886 patients, CDT was associated with better right ventricular recovery and lower early cardiorespiratory deterioration, without a significant increase in major bleeding or intracranial hemorrhage.
Grateful to my outstanding co-authors Abdulrahman Kareem AlTuwayhir, Bader Alshammari, Mohamed Abuelazm, and Abdullah S. Mirza for their excellent work and dedication.”
