Archil Jaliashvili: When Every Minute Matters Time Becomes a Therapy

Archil Jaliashvili, Co-owner, General Manager of SkinAI, Co-Chief Executive Officer at GeoBio Pharm, shared a post on LinkedIn about a recent article by Roberto Primi et al., published in Scientific Reports, adding:

“Interesting perspective.

This study shows that OHCA is not distributed evenly across a population – geography, age structure, population density and socioeconomic factors all influence where the burden is concentrated.

But there is another dimension we should consider: time and therapeutic availability.
If every minute matters, should we rethink how we equip EMS – particularly helicopters and other prehospital systems?

We need solutions that can bridge the patient to definitive hospital treatment: maintaining oxygen delivery during the critical transport window, when blood products or other advanced therapies may not be immediately available.

This is where a donor-independent oxygenation solution such as BHOC – Biological Hemoglobin Oxygen Carrier could play a complementary role – not replacing blood or hospital treatment, but supporting oxygen delivery and helping bridge the patient from the point of emergency to the hospital where definitive treatment can be delivered.

The future of emergency care may not only be about getting the patient to hospital faster.

It also about bringing therapeutic capability closer to the patient.
