Dimitrios Nikas, President of Working Group in Stroke at Hellenic Society of Cardiology, reposted from ESC Council on Stroke on LinkedIn:

”Stroke during TAVI procedures, still remains noticeable high, despite devices and techniques evolution.

ESC Council on Stroke continues to search, develop and propose new methods to reduce the burden of stroke during interventional procedures.”

ESC Council on Stroke shared on LinkedIn about a recent article by Dimitrios N. Nikas et al, published in Journal of Clinical Medicine:

”Stroke remains a key complication after TAVI, with major impact on morbidity and mortality.

This review summarizes incidence, mechanisms, and risk factors, and highlights evolving prevention strategies, including cerebral protection devices.
