Choosing the Right P2Y12 Inhibitor After PCI – JAMA Cardiology

JAMA Cardiology shared a post on LinkedIn about a recent article by Giuseppe Biondi-Zoccai et al., adding:

Editorial: A network meta-analysis of randomized clinical trials comparing clopidogrel, prasugrel, and ticagrelor in patients with Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS) undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) indicates that prasugrel offers the most favorable efficacy-safety profile for reducing major adverse cardiovascular events, myocardial infarction, and stent thrombosis.

Clinicians are advised that selection of a P2Y12 inhibitor should be individualized to account for patient comorbidities, bleeding risk, and concurrent therapies, with clopidogrel and ticagrelor remaining appropriate alternatives for specific scenarios.”
