Jensa Morris: Why Low Molecular Weight Heparins Should Be the First Choice for VTE
Jensa Morris, Director of Smilow Hospitalist Service at Yale New Haven Hospital, shared a post on LinkedIn about a recent article by Youssef Saklawi et al, published in Journal of Hospital Medicine, adding:
“There are so many clinical interventions that we do reflexively despite a mountain of clinical evidence to the contrary.
Thank you Journal of Hospital Medicine and TWDFNR for reminding us that LMWH and not UFH should be first choice for patients requiring non-oral treatment for VTE, even for those who may later require thrombolysis or thrombectomy.”
