Judith Verlaan: Body Fat Distribution and Its Role in Coagulation and VTE Risk

Judith Verlaan, PHD Candidate of Clinical Epidemiology at Leiden University Medical Center, shared on LinkedIn about a recent article she and her colleagues co-authored, published in Arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis, and Vascular Biology, adding:

”Pleased to share our new publication in Arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis, and Vascular Biology (ATVB).

In this study, we investigated how different abdominal fat measures are associated with coagulation parameters related to VTE risk.

We found clear differences across body fat measures, with sex-specific associations, highlighting the importance of body fat distribution and sex in coagulation and thrombotic potential.

We are also honored that the article was selected as a ‘Featured’ publication in the July issue and will be freely accessible this month.”
