Kemal Karaagac: Calcitriol May Reduce Thrombotic Risk in MASLD
Kemal Karaagac, Cardiologist at Cihangir Hospital, shared a post on X about a recent article by Peng Zhang et al., published in JACC: Basic to Translational Science, adding:
“Calcitriol may reduce platelet activation and thrombosis via VDR signaling in megakaryocytes and platelets, downregulating P2Y12, activating cAMP or PKA and inhibiting MAPK.
These findings suggest that calcitriol may have therapeutic potential in MASLD-associated thrombophilia and thrombotic risk.”
