Khaled Musallam: Assessing the State of Thalassaemia and Sickle Cell Disease Care Across Europe
Khaled Musallam, Group Chief Research Officer at Burjeel Holdings, shared a post on LinkedIn about a recent article he and his colleagues co-authored, published in Medical Research Archives, adding:
“Our latest publication with the Thalassaemia International Federation (TIF) takes a closer look at the current landscape of prevention and clinical care for haemoglobin disorders across Europe.
Despite significant advances, important gaps remain in epidemiological data, screening programmes, access to specialised care, and patient outcomes across many parts of Europe.
Our findings highlight the urgent need for coordinated policies to ensure equitable access to prevention and high-quality care for patients with thalassaemia and sickle cell disease.”
