Rithwic Mani: Platelet-to-Lymphocyte Ratio as A Simple and Cost-Effective Prognostic Biomarker in Stroke

Rithwic Mani, Clinical Pharmacist Intern at Malla Reddy Narayana Multispeciality Hospital, shared on LinkedIn about a recent article he and his colleagues co-authored, adding:

”I am pleased to share my research work titled ‘A Prospective Study on Platelet-to-Lymphocyte Ratio in Short-Term Mortality in Stroke Patients.’

This study evaluates the role of platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR) as a simple and cost-effective prognostic biomarker in assessing stroke severity and short-term mortality.

Our findings highlight a strong association between elevated PLR values and increased mortality risk, along with poorer clinical outcomes measured using NIHSS and mRS scales.

The study emphasizes the importance of integrating inflammatory markers with clinical assessment tools for better risk stratification and patient management.

Grateful to my mentors, co-authors, and institution for their continuous support and guidance throughout this research journey.”
