“Does reversing factor Xa inhibitors really carry as much thrombotic risk as we think?
Real-world data from the Netherlands offer a reassuring perspective.
Among 217 patients treated with andexanet alfa, the 30-day thrombotic event rate was just 4.6%, substantially lower than reported in major clinical trials.
Even more striking, no thrombotic events occurred after anticoagulation was restarted, reinforcing the importance of timely reinitiation when clinically appropriate.
A valuable real-world look at balancing life-saving bleeding reversal with thrombotic risk.”
