Sajjad Ullah Mphil: The Impact of Pharmacist-Led Anticoagulation Care in VTE
Sajjad Ullah Mphil, Pharmacist at Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre, shared on LinkedIn about a recent article he and his colleagues co-authored, adding:
”I am happy to share that our article has been published, offering valuable insights into ‘Pharmacist-led anticoagulation care in cancer: Associations with bleeding and VTE recurrence.’
Cancer patients are at a significantly higher risk of both thrombosis and bleeding, making anticoagulation management particularly complex.
This study was conducted to explore the impact of pharmacist-led anticoagulation care, focusing on its role in optimizing therapy, minimizing bleeding risks, and reducing the recurrence of venous thromboembolism (VTE).
Our findings add to the growing evidence supporting the clinical value of pharmacist involvement in multidisciplinary cancer care.
This landmark reflects dedication, enthusiasm, and strong leadership support.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Sir Omar Akhlaq Bhutta and my supervisor, Dr. Inayat Ur Rehman, for their constant guidance and unwavering support throughout this journey.
I am also deeply thankful to my co-author Dr. Javeria Khalid for her persistent support during challenging times.
Special appreciation to Dr. Yasir Shah and Prof. Long Ming for their continuous encouragement, patience, and motivation toward progress.
This will contribute to improving patient care and advancing the role of pharmacists in clinical practice.”
