“Researchers at Japan’s Nara Medical University have engineered hemoglobin vesicles that work for blood transfusion replacements all blood types and last for years.
As clinical trials advance, parallel efforts in the U.S. and U.K. are converging on a long-elusive goal: a shelf-stable substitute for donated blood.
This could revolutionize emergency room and battlefield emergency care.”
