1 in 100: Subclavian Steal Syndrome Revealed by LVO Stroke in Case with Persistent Trigeminal Artery

A recent Stroke Image article highlights a rare presentation of subclavian steal syndrome in the context of a large-vessel occlusion (LVO) stroke.
The case, reported by Joana Moniz Dionísio, Diana Aguiar de Sousa, and colleagues, features the coexistence of subclavian steal physiology with a persistent trigeminal artery—an embryologic vascular remnant.
This unique vascular configuration provided critical diagnostic insight, underscoring the importance of advanced imaging in complex cerebrovascular presentations.
