Promising Thrombin Biomarkers For Identifying High-Risk VTE Patients – JTH
Journal of Thrombosis and Haemostasis (JTH) shared a post on LinkedIn about a recent article by Geke C. Poolen et al, adding:
”Thrombin Generation and Thrombin Dynamics Are Associated with Recurrent Venous Thromboembolism After Anticoagulation Withdrawal
In 589 VTE patients, reduced endogenous thrombin potential, thrombomodulin sensitivity, and thrombin inactivation by antithrombin were significantly associated with VTE recurrence after stopping anticoagulation, highlighting these parameters as promising biomarkers for identifying high-risk patients.”
