A huge thank you to all my co-authors listed above who helped me publish this work!
Especially thanks to our collaborator Dr. Cheng Zhu’s group from the Georgia Institute of Technology (Amir Hossein Kazemipour Ashkezari and Dr. Peiwen Cong) for their contributions.
We also thank the reviewers and editors from Circulation Research for your support and publication of our work.
Novelty and Significance
•This article demonstrates that Lyn directly binds to the GPIb (glycoprotein Ib) β subunit at the transmembrane-cytoplasmic domain interface.
•This article shows that this Lyn-GPIbβ interaction is essential for bidirectional GPIb-IX signaling that strengthens GPIb-IX-VWF interaction and mediates platelet activation and aggregation in response to VWF and collagen.
•This article invents a novel peptide drug that blocks Lyn binding to GPIbβ and inhibits platelet adhesion/aggregation and arterial thrombosis with potential for treating thrombotic diseases.”
