Julie Cardoso: FDA Clears the First AI-Guided Ultrasound Software for Suspected DVT
Julie Cardoso, Owner and Executive Director of Independent Diagnostic Testing Facility at Universal Ultrasound Diagnostics, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Huge milestone for our team at ThinkSono: the FDA has granted clearance for ThinkSono Guidance.
It’s the first AI-powered ultrasound guidance software cleared for the evaluation of suspected deep vein thrombosis (DVT).
What this means in practice: a nurse or clinician with 60–90 minutes of training can capture a vascular ultrasound exam at the bedside, guided in real time by our AI, with every exam reviewed remotely by a qualified interpreting physician.
Faster answers for patients, wherever they present.
It took a decade of work, 1,691 patients across 24 study sites, and an incredible team to get here. Proud to be part of it!”
