Suhasini Sil on Impact of AMBM Red Cell Transfusions in Improving Transfusion Outcomes
Suhasini Sil, Senior Resident doctor at AIIMS, shared on LinkedIn:
”Proud to share our recent publication in Transfusion Medicine.
This 5-year study from our centre demonstrates how antigen-matched red cell transfusions lead to better post-transfusion outcomes in autoimmune haemolytic anaemia patients — paving the way for more personalised transfusion practices in resource-limited settings.
Explores the impact of antigen-matched best-matched (AMBM) red cell transfusions in improving transfusion outcomes.
Demonstrates that AMBM transfusions significantly reduce inter-transfusion interval (ITI) and enhance post-transfusion haemoglobin increment (PTHI) in alloimmunised AIHA patients.
Grateful to all co-authors and team members who made this possible!”
