”The first-and only-RCT demonstrating the efficacy of anticoagulation (AC) for the treatment of PE was conducted in 1960 and included 73 patients. Join us at VIVA 2025 to see how far we’ve come. On behalf of the entire STORM-PE team and in collaboration with PERT Consortium, I will be presenting the clinical and functional outcomes of the first RCT comparing mechanical thrombectomy plus AC versus AC alone in patients with acute intermediate–high-risk PE.
