Stanislas Conseiller Congratulates Humbert Marc on Receiving the INSERM 2025 Grand Prize

”The Inserm Grand Prize shines a light on one man and his career… but also on an entire French model.
I would like to pay tribute to all those doctors, researchers, professors, and university hospital staff who combine three vocations in one: caring, understanding, and passing on knowledge.
These are women and men who, often far from the spotlight, support our healthcare system, train future generations, and advance science with remarkable determination.
As true pillars of our system and of medical innovation, they embody what is most precious in our medicine: generosity and excellence in the service of all.
It is in this spirit that I would like to warmly congratulate Humbert Marc, Dean of the Paris-Saclay Faculty of Medicine, on winning the INSERM 2025 Grand Prize, one of the highest distinctions in biomedical research in France.
This award crowns more than thirty years of commitment to patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension (HTAP).
Together with his teams, Marc Humbert has helped transform the understanding and management of this rare disease: creation of a national registry, major advances in basic and clinical research, development of new therapeutic approaches, and more.
This remarkable work has significantly improved patients’ life expectancy and quality of life.
Although I joined the faculty only a year ago, every day I appreciate how fortunate I am to be working alongside these exceptional individuals, who are doctors, researchers, and teachers.
They maintain a unique link between care, training, and research, benefiting patients, students, and society as a whole.
Congratulations to him, and thank you to all those who, on a daily basis, bring to life this generous, open, and ambitious vision of university hospital medicine.
As for us “laypeople,” let us admire and support this model to which we owe so much.”
