”Still filled with gratitude after presenting at the UK Stroke Forum (UKSF25).
Sharing Leadership in Global Stroke Care: Lessons from Tanzania’s Journey felt like closing a circle that began years ago at a patient’s bedside.
From building Tanzania’s first digital stroke registry with no funding, to establishing stroke units, developing national protocols including the recent introduction to the use of intravenous thrombolysis for acute ischemic strokes at major public hospitals.
Leading public and clinical advocacy campaigns, indeed, this journey has been shaped by collaboration, resilience, and purpose!
My biggest lesson: “Leadership grows where trust, partnership, and people are placed at the centre.
And meaningful change happens when global and local teams move together”
A memorable first UKSF experience and hopefully the first of many.
