Ana Rita Rodrigues on the Impact of Post-Stroke Dysphagia
Ana Rita Rodrigues, Revisor for Health Science Reports at Wiley, shared on LinkedIn:
”Very pleased to see our work on the impact of post-stroke dysphagia highlighted, carried out at the Unidade Local de Saúde de Matosinhos and published in the Revista Portuguesa de Otorrinolaringologia e Cirurgia da Cabeça e Pescoço.
This study — of which I am the first author — analysed 137 patients assessed with fiberoptic endoscopic evaluation of swallowing (FEES) between 2018 and 2023, showing how dysphagia in the acute phase after stroke influences functional prognosis, length of hospital stay, and the risk of respiratory complications.
It is very gratifying to see this highly relevant topic featured by the My Otorrino platform, helping to raise awareness of the importance of early diagnosis and intervention.
A special thank you to the entire multidisciplinary team for their daily commitment to caring for patients with dysphagia.”
