”Our new scientific statement in European Heart Journal addresses not only chronic ischaemic heart disease, but also high-risk scenarios such as cardiogenic shock, and emerging, under-studied areas including gender-affirming therapies and cardiovascular risk.
Led by the ESC Working Group on Coronary Pathophysiology and Microcirculation WGC PMESC Olivia Manfrini, with ACVC ESC and EAPCI, this paper highlights why sex and gender must be integrated into cardiovascular research and care: from prevention to the cath lab and to intensive care.”
