Christian Heiss, Associate Head of Medical School (Research and Innovation) at University of Surrey, Professor and NHS Consultant in Interventional Cardiovascular Medicine, shared a post on LinkedIn about a recent article by James Amamoo et al, published in American Journal of Preventive Cardiology:
”New paper worth flagging (Am J Prev Cardiol): in real-world data, people with type 2 diabetes who also have peripheral artery disease (PAD) had markedly higher risks of major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) and major adverse limb events (MALE) than those without PAD.
It’s also a reminder that PAD remains under-recognised—most diagnostic work-ups still rely on ABI and duplex ultrasound.”
