Karen Fahey: What If the Blood Products You Rely On Weren’t Safe?
Karen Fahey, Member of Board of Directors for the Canadian Hemophilia Society, shared Canadian Hemophilia Society‘s post on LinkedIn, adding:
”STOP and read the press release…
What if the blood products you or a loved one rely on weren’t safe — and a small community had to fight to change that?
This documentary interviews recipients of tainted blood and their families on both sides of the Atlantic.
They share heartbreaking stories of infection and the fight for health, dignity, and justice — showing incredible courage in an era of misinformation and stigma.
Today, anyone who benefits from blood transfusions or plasma-derived therapies can have confidence in the safety of the system because of their advocacy.
As a person with hemophilia who has received 17 transfusions, and someone who currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Canadian Hemophilia Society (CHS), previously served 12 years with the Quebec chapter (CHS-Qc), and has been an ambassador for CODEROUGE for 16 years, I feel a profound sense of fulfillment in supporting this mission.
Thanks to the tireless advocacy of patients and families, reforms created Canadian Blood Services and Héma-Québec — giving everyone who relies on blood products confidence in their safety.
History like this deserves to be KNOWN”
Quoting Canadian Hemophilia Society‘s post:
”Link to the CHS press release regarding a tainted blood tragedy documentary series streaming on Illico+ in Québec as of tomorrow.”
