Aroosa Zafar: DOACs in Atrial Fibrillation After Intracranial Hemorrhage
Aroosa Zafar, USMLE Aspirant, shared a post on LinkedIn about a recent article she and her colleagues co-authored, adding:
“Glad to share our work on the efficacy and safety of direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs) compared to no anticoagulation for stroke prevention in atrial fibrillation patients with prior intracranial hemorrhage.
Key takeaway:
DOACs can reduce stroke and cardiovascular events, albeit with an increased risk of bleeding.
It underscored the importance of careful patient selection and individualized decision-making.
Grateful to Akash Kumar and Muhammad Ibrahim for their guidance and support throughout this project.
Excited to build on this journey with research that drives meaningful impact in medicine.”
