Gevorg Yaghjyan, Project Leader at Parexel, shared a post on LinkedIn:
”New rare-disease research and clinical program has recently been launched at the Yale School of Medicine focusing on Transketolase (TKT) deficiency, an extremely rare genetic metabolic disorder.
The Yale Transketolase Deficiency Program was established to:
- Improve diagnosis of patients with this rare disorder
- Conduct cutting-edge research on the disease mechanism
- Develop future therapeutic strategies
- Provide multidisciplinary clinical care for patients with suspected or confirmed disease
The program is led by physicians and researchers including Andrew Wang and Anna Szekely at Yale.
It collaborates with major rare-disease networks such as:
the Undiagnosed Diseases Network
the National Organization for Rare Disorders (NORD)
to identify additional patients worldwide and accelerate research”
