Leonardo Roever: Non-Pharmacological Approaches Lead in PSCI Treatment

Leonardo Roever, CEO of Brazilian Evidence-Based Health Network, shared on LinkedIn about a recent article by Huainan Li et al, published in Brain and Behavior:

”Meta-analysis of treatment methods for post-stroke cognitive impairment: a network analysis of various interventions

Post-stroke cognitive impairment (PSCI) is a common neurological consequence of stroke that significantly impacts patients’ quality of life and functional recovery.

This meta-analysis aimed to evaluate and compare the effectiveness of various treatment modalities for PSCI.

This comprehensive analysis suggests that non-pharmacological interventions, particularly neuromodulation techniques and traditional Chinese exercises, may offer promising approaches for the treatment of PSCI.

These findings provide evidence-based guidance for clinical decision-making, although more large-scale, high-quality randomized controlled trials (RCTs) are needed to strengthen these conclusions.”
