Strengthening Care in Burundi – WFH
World Federation of Hemophilia (WFH) shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Strengthening care in Burundi
The WFH team visited Burundi as part of the WFH Cornerstone Initiative, working with the Solidarité Burundaise contre l’Hémophilie (SOBUH), local healthcare professionals to strengthen diagnosis and care.
During the visit, 17 patients received medical consultations and laboratory testing, while healthcare professionals and 50 medical students were trained in Bleeding disorder care and diagnosis.
Patients and families also participated in therapeutic education sessions to support long-term management of hemophilia.
These efforts help build local expertise and improve care for people living with bleeding disorders in Burundi.”
Sandrine Meunier, Pediatrician and Hospital Practitioner at Hospices Civils de Lyon, shared a WFH’s post on LinkedIn, adding:
“Truly honored to have contributed to this mission in Burundi, alongside Christophe Nougier and Cheikh Niang.
Many thanks to the World Federation of Hemophilia to Solidarité Burundaise Contre Hemophilie, and to the entire CHUK team for their warm welcome and these particularly enriching exchanges.
A deeply meaningful human experience, in service of patients.”
