Maura Boerio: Quantifying Barriers to Care in Vascular Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome
Maura Boerio, Second-Year Genetic Counseling Graduate Student at Boston University School of Medicine, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Last week, I had the privilege of presenting my graduate capstone research which characterized and quantified major barriers in Vascular Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome care.
This was such a rewarding moment to nearly finish out my time in the Boston University Genetic Counseling Program. It was also such a full-circle moment as my passion for clinical genetics was founded in heritable aortopathy research five years ago. I am incredibly grateful to the VEDS community for their collaboration, as well as to my capstone committee for their expert guidance: Jodi Hoffman, Isabella Marin, Victoria Morris, and Sherene Shalhub.
We look forward to pursuing publication of this project.”
