”We successfully treated a case of acute left subclavian artery plaque thrombosis in a middle-aged dialysis patient, presenting with upper limb ischemia and acute dysfunction of the arteriovenous fistula.
The procedure involved thromboaspiration using a large-bore dedicated catheter, combined with vertebral artery protection. This strategy ensured both safety and effectiveness in a potentially life-threatening scenario, particularly due to the risk of embolization to the posterior cerebral circulation.
This case highlights the importance of advanced endovascular techniques and cerebral protection strategies when managing complex thrombotic events in high-risk patients.
