Anna Gardin: Incredible Initiative to Measure Clinician’s Own Lp(a) On The Spot at ESOC 2026

Anna Gardin, Neurology Resident at Stroke Unit, “G. Martino” University Hospital, shared on LinkedIn:

”At ESOC 2026, an incredible initiative gave clinicians the chance to measure their own Lp(a) on the spot.

As healthcare professionals, we talk to our patients about cardiovascular risk every day, but how often do we actually look at our own?

Fortunately, my Lp(a) are low (<15 nmol/L).

But this kind of screening is a powerful reminder: elevated Lp(a) can be the nudge we need to double down on the modifiable factors we can control.

And for those with high levels?

The good news is that the therapeutic landscape is evolving.

Novel Lp(a)-lowering agents are on the horizon, and the science is moving fast.

Lead by example. Know your risk.”
