Lisa Murphy: Farewelling Linda Kristjanson – A Lifelong Champion and Supporter of Stroke Foundation
Lisa Murphy, Chief Executive Officer at Stroke Foundation, shared on LinkedIn:
”This week Stroke Foundation farewelled Linda Kristjanson AO, FAICD, FTSE our President and Board Chair after 6 years of service.
Writing this post has been hard – impossible to sum up all Linda has given to us – but here we go!
At NFP Boards we over talk about the 5 Ts – Talent, Time, Treasure, Ties and Testimony. Linda, you gave us every single one (and more!).
Talent: your governance skills are extraordinary. I have never seen anyone chair a meeting as well as you do! Your deep knowledge of research and health, grounded in your foundation as a palliative care nurse, guides your approach. A genuine belief in the power of lived experience, and incredible emotional intelligence.
Time: you were so very generous with your time, travelling across Australia with me for VIP events, and always available for a chat when I needed to work through a sticky problem!
Treasure: you are one of our most generous donors and confirmed gift in will supporters through the David Brownbill Bequest Society.
Ties: you opened your black book and introduced us to your network, both philanthropic and academic
Testimony: you always championed Stroke Foundation including talking to taxi drivers about FAST and stroke prevention.
And I will add one more:
Trust: Linda, you trusted me and believed in me right from the beginning as a brand new CEO.
You guided me to decisions, asking questions that helped me find the answer.
You always took time to congratulate the Team and thank them for the hard work they do.
I know you will stay a lifelong champion and supporter of Stroke Foundation.
So Linda, thank you!
Thank you for your leadership, your trust and your excellence!”
