Dhruvi Joshi: Reduced-Dose DOAC Therapy in Patients With Venous Thromboembolism

Dhruvi Joshi, Founder and Creator at The 25th Hour Project, shared a post on LinkedIn about a recent article she and her colleagues co-authored, published in JSCAI, adding:

“Thrilled to share our meta-analysis, now published in the Journal of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (JSCAI)!

Across 5 RCTs involving 8,781 patients with VTE, reduced-dose DOACs demonstrated a significant reduction in major bleeding (1.2% vs 2.0%; RR 0.62; p=0.019) and clinically relevant non-major bleeding (5.2% vs 7.0%; RR 0.75; p<0.001), with no significant difference in recurrent VTE (RR 0.92) or all-cause mortality (RR 0.86) compared to full-dose regimens.

Results were consistent across patients with and without active cancer.

My sincerest gratitude to Dr. Saraschandra Vallabhajosyula, for his invaluable mentorship and guidance through every step of the way.

Beyond grateful to Dr. Zeeshan Mansuri, Siddharth Pravin Agrawal, Hritvik Jain, Zaraith Coy Neira, Mir wajid Majeed and Caroline Serafim Dagostin for their support.”
