Peter Zdziarski: Approval Does Not Mean NovoSeven is 100% Effective or Risk-Free in GT
Peter Zdziarski, Founder and Marketing Director of Glanzmann Thrombasthenia Advocacy Network, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“NovoSeven has been a lifesaving treatment for many people with Glanzmann Thrombasthenia, but I want those in the community to know that it’s important to remember that no medication is perfect.
Like all newer drugs, NovoSeven passed clinical trials, but long-term effects, rare complications, and real-world outcomes still take time to understand fully.
Approval does not mean a treatment is 100% effective or risk-free.
I hope that when adverse events or unexpected outcomes occur, Novo Nordisk thoroughly investigates them and shares those findings publicly. The GT community benefits from transparency, whether the results are positive or negative.
I always say:
Read the fine print, no matter how long or small; ask questions; and understand both the benefits and risks of any treatment you use.
The more we learn, the better care future GT patients will receive.”
